Everybody listen

This has been the most interesting/intense listen I’ve had in a long time. The album itself does not contain constant “tunes”, but a journey of futuristic mayhem. Based on his experiences, this album displays Jack Latham’s strange undercover operations for a major sports company, hearing sex through the walls of his poky residence and other bizarre unique encounters. My tunes have to be “Her”, “Strawberries”, “How We Relate To The Body”, and the album version of the “The Courts”. Read this and buy this and listen to it properly within context and witness some originality which electronic music so desperately needs right now.

In other news, May mix is coming out soon, just finished uni so a lot of partying and not enough time to collate the best of quite yet, but all in good time, to all you out there who still follow us, much love to you!

April 2012 Mix

This month we start with a rather minimal yet paradoxically large ‘Zone’ by Elgato, raising the bpm from 120 to 150, and finishing off again with a masterful Lone track from his album Galaxy Garden, featuring Machinedrum on the vocals. We also have features from 3 other outstanding albums, including Actress’ R.I.P, Distal’s Civilization, and Lazer Sword’s Memory, all highly recommended. Stand out tunes from the mix have to be Logos’ rude laser anthem ‘Kowloon’ and Baauer’s supercrunk remix of Krueger. Enjoy.

The previous month has seen some hyped releases on the “Big-H” labels with the likes of Scuba’s album naturally on Hotflush, Burial’s Ep unspurpringly on Hyperdub and Objekt’s 2-side single deservingly on Hessle. We’ve also seen a delayed return from Untold’s Hemlock label with a very interesting Randomer EP. Coincidences? Almost certainly. Tracks from the aforementioned feature alongside my other picks of the month in a bpm twiddling mix. Although strictly speaking there are a couple in there from January which I missed but had to put in due to their magnificence (two tracks from Todd Terje’s “Its The Arps” EP, highly recommended for any person ever).
