broken bells

— — —

really sorry for the rather ‘indie’ flex right now i know you may have had this shoved down your throat anyway AND that you come here for music you wouldn’t usually find anywhere else HOWEVER, there are a huge number of beautiful and complete albums coming out right now. this new collaboration BROKEN BELLS finds both brian burton (aka. DANGER MOUSE) and james mercer lead singer of one of my favorite bands, THE SHINS, working together in what sounds like a winning formula. it is an album full of complex and stunning melodies, ranging from the funky to the epic; the melancholy to the joyous! the voice of mercer constantly present and free, dancing inbetween the various layers of instruments. danger mouse has, of course, got the percussion on spot and the total result is a stunning debut album.below i’ve posted a stream of the whole album which is live till the release date on the 9th of march. i highly suggest you buy this as well. be happy, listen hard.
