Mightyfools – Cops!

Wizard’s fave Mightyfools have just released a new EP ‘Cops!’ on Crux records. Remixes on the EP include Bryan Cox, The Only, The Deficient, Leko, Jeff Doubleu, IllStM & Zol and MC Twist. We have the original but I thought I’d better reduce the quality to 160 kbps, get the real thing and all the awesome remixes off Beatport via the link below. The original is bass-heavy as we expect from Mightyfools, but not classic wobble, more a fast stabbing distorted bass and we like it.

So I did a bit of snooping around and came up with a collection of pretty darn new and pretty darn good tracks from the world of dirt, house and bass. Most of the stuff I came up with is related to the label Potty Mouth Music which is a darn good label! All the tracks are 320 kbps (OK, bar one) and fucking fidgety. Yet another post with no theme but the awesome power of dance music. More new brilliant tunes for you to blast through your earphones at full volume, let the nation be a hearing impared nation!

Fake Blood is probably one of the most sort after artists on the blogosphere. He even released a fake remix (of Darude-Sandstorm) to the blogs and they still hype hype hyped it. Luckily being Wizards which are Better, we saw through Fake Blood’s gag and even managed to laugh with him! HAHAHA! His new remix is not fake, but Fake Blood (i.e. fucking beaut). Once again captivating us with a georgeous melodic hook using his definitive Fake Blood synths and more, ultimately producing a, dare I say it, melancholic track. Amazing variation and just a wondeful tune.

Another blogosphere lover is Major Lazer. Boy do we love it.  Now here we have five remixes of ‘Hold The Line’ taken from Mad Decent blog, they’re all freaking awesome. I’ll go through them quickly my genreising (I know its not a word) each remix. Skream: Very minimal afrobeat/dubstep. DZ: Dubstep/breakbeat with heavy, jabbing bass. Edu K: Minimal dancehall/afrobeat. Toadally Krossed Out: Interesting take on DnB using drum rolls. Audio Dakoos: Hyper dubstep with excellent variation.

Who would have thought that Lee Mortimer’s remix of  ‘Rockerman’ by Foamo would ever be challenged. Dem Slackers did! And what a job they’ve done. The original wobble ryhthm, changing the tune and fucking around with it superbly!

A1 Bassline is always capable of producing wobbly bangers. But I do feel that his last few remixes (quite a few) have been quite samey in the use of his classic machine gun wobble sound.If you’ve been following his work for the last few months you’d probably know what’s coming just before the drop. But hey, this track is awesome no doubt, but what happened to the days of ‘Bad Man Horror Theme’, probably his best track. If you have no idea what I’m on about, then you’ll definately love this track anyway!

Now we don’t usually have ‘Bonus’ tracks on this blog. But seeing as all of the above are brand spanking new, I thought that a track nearly a year old wouldn’t correlate. Its an old Mightyfools remix I found and I love it, amongst all their other stuff. Bouncy, bassy and brilliant; the least you can expect from probably my favourite artists.

JACKINORI – BA BADA (MIGHTYFOOLS REMIX) 

What a night!

Wow what a night. I’ve only just been able to reach the computer to write this. My legs and neck are still fucked from bouncing and head banging, but oh was it worth it! Above is a nice picture of Mustard Pimp who played from 11 till 12 and still fucking destroyed the dancefloor, even though one of the decks broke near the beginning, (we had a back-up thank god!). They had an awesome set playing a mixture of wobbly, banging and fidgety house including one of my absolute favourites by the men themselves “Oh La La Satan“, and finishing with their new dubsteppy track ‘Bagarre’ which I have fallen in love with, hear it on their myspace, NOW! Stereoheroes were next and played their stuttery, fidget style tracks and many other classics, with their own “Poundcakes” being my track of their set. Klose One closed the night with literally the best of dirty dubstep finishing off a superb night which we could only get to go on till 3, but wow was I out like a light afterwards. Big big big ups to Dem Slackers who played first from 10-11 with a small crowd, which isn’t ideal, but they still played an excellent set including Lee Mortimer’s remix of their own “God Is A Slacker” and closing with one of the best minimal wobble tracks ever made “Snailtrail“ which we hope to nab off them soon. After befriending the Dutch duo, who are fucking geezers, I find it my duty to post a few of their tracks which really haven’t had enough publicity.

As I still can’t get over their recent mixtape for their Australia tour, I got as many of the tracks individually (not including the ones we have already posted). All the Mightyfools remixes have not been released yet but they’re probably the best tracks on the mix. Thats saying alot though, check this shit out!

Herve’s been pretty average recently to be honest, producing realy middle of the road electro remixes. This one is an exception as there’s no doubting his producing sounds with variation and cool sounds and an excellent structure. Turn this one up loud.

A bit of wobble/electro, niiiice, really hits the spot. The middle of the track produces a beautiful cut, pasting and layering of the vocals breaking into a superb drop with a mix of the vocals and a harder wobble sound. Well done Stevo and Danny.

N.A.S.A. – GIFTED (STEVE AOKI REMIX) (DANIEL DEXTER FLOORBURNING EDIT)

ROBOT ROBOT ROBOT ROBOT! I’ve never heard of Hey Today! but I’ll definately be Hype Machining them alot now. What an intro to a fucking electronic distortion mesh of beautiful electro/techno. When the track stops and builds up, it resolves in a funky, feel good electro classic. Really really liking this tune.

ZOMBIE NATION – RADIO CONTROLLED (HEY TODAY! REMIX)

More like a reslave! A 7 minute track of constant banging electro. Perhaps a little repetetive, but constantly change of drum and synth intensity you sort of forget about that. Lovely hi-hats!

YEAH YEAH YEAHS – ZERO (EROL ALKAN REWORK)

Last but probably the best! Boys Noize produces and very bouncy number which will make you jump even if you’re a pretty cool guy! Could he have caught up with todays million miles an hour dance scene, I certainly think so.

So if you live down under and are up for some proper bassline house craziness then the Mightyfools are the guys to see. I think i’m in love, and they’re getting better and better. You may know that we at Wizards Are Better have a certain few absolute favourite artists, (i.e. Jack Beats, Mustard Pimp, Raffertie) well Mightyfools has now joined our elite in dance madness. This mixtape which they sent as promotion for their Australia tour has undoubtably the best bassline house/fidget tracks possible. The new Mightyfools remixes and track on the mixtape are insane and even better than their earlier stuff.
