After a few unhappy comments on my last post about the inevitable invasion of minimal/tribal/tech house, which were actually expected, its probably best we give you some hugeness! You may have to get used to more minimal posts, seeing as us wizards actually quite like it now. But if you think we’re going soft on ya, well then…….you’re very wrong! Wobble and bass is in our veins and we’ll never grow tired of it! Constant bangers will be posted, and here’s a few which I’m loving at the moment.
First two tracks from electro wobbler Sticky K, both worthy of any dirty dancefloor. ‘The Testament of Dr. Mabuse’ sways towards the wobble side with a rhythmic bass synth and a fidgety beat. On the other hand ‘Alphaville’ is a horror film electro banger.
New Jack Beats remix here of guess who, La Roux. This is proper old school Jack Beats , with a definate tinge of their legendary remix of AC Slater’s ‘Jack Got Jacked’, but they also incorporate La Roux’s undoubtedly brilliant voice in the build ups and bridges. The main bassline rhythm is a classic, but certainly nothing new.
Joker’s on fire at the moment, producing dubstep that is actually pleasant to listen to. No chugging metallic bass (don’t get me wrong, we love hyper dub!). I’m loving this track, warm yet warped bass combined with Mario/Crystal Castles-esque synths creating a groovy dub instrumental.
More dub, but on a different level completely. I didn’t know that there was a Lopside EP by Stagga released a few months back. I downloaded the title track expecting greatness and that’s exactly what I got. This track is all over the place, hence ‘Lopside’, with Stagga’s signature sound pitch bending till your brain melts alongside a chilled beat thanks to the clever use of a ride cymbal.
Another man with a particularly superb signature sound is Gtronic. Along with his dirty dirty bass grinding along, there’s some very pleasant synth and vocal melodies in this remix of Heads We Dance’s ‘Sirens’.
Rico Tubbs is a man on form. We loved ‘Cutty’ which we posted a few weeks ago. Usual use of a funky disco feel, topped off with his brilliantly created wobbly bassline.
This next tune is a real journey. A massive build up including syncopating bongos, interesting effects on the vocals and great production climaxing to a short period of crazy ravy synths.
Ha! An absolute classic original track which is Fat Boy Slim’s ‘Right Here, Right Now’ is confidently remixed by Trumpdisco, staying true to the original and bringing it into 2009 by remixing it as an excellent electro banger.
Afrojack has already impressed us with his remix of Silvio Ecomo and Chuckie’s ‘Moombah’ which is probably my tribal house anthem so far this year. His latest remix of Kid Cudi’s collabroation with Kanye West’s ‘Make Her Say’, is more fidgety with a solid beat and bending synths, but he still brings a tribal feel with bongos and cowbells.
Finally we have quite an old tune from Foamo, but a classic none the less. Probably one of his more original and experimental tunes with use of strange ascending bass synths with a few wobbles here and there.

Big fat post today. We owe you due to the serious lack of posts recently. Our excuse is holidaying, partying and just plain idleness!
Newish tracks from various artists here. Foamo, Hostage and Rico Tubbs produce high quality wobbliness as per usual, whilst Rusko and Skream bang out some devious dubstep. The highlight for me is probably Skream’s ‘Calous’ who is certainly back to his bass!

Mightyfools continue to bring pleasure to the dance world with their new EP ‘Living The Life’ . You may have seen a video preview posted a few weeks ago, well now its available to buy off iTunes and Beatport. We have some lower quality previews for you below so you can check out a few of the tracks before you buy it. We have the original ‘Livng the Life’ which is a funky wobbler, the Gtronic remix (insane!) and the Boemklatsch remix of the other Mightyfools original ‘Juno’.

I bought one of these A1 Bassline tracks of itunes a while back and now that, and others, have been posted on Palms Out Sounds blog, I hope I’m allowed to post these newish A1 Bassline wonders. I’ve said a few times in past posts featuring this bassy nutter, saying that his work in the last few months has been quite samey, even though they are all amazing. These tracks are still not far from A1 Bassline’s classic style, but I must admit there is a bit of variation between them, but at the end of the day, who cares if they’re fucking superb! Turn the speakers loud and pump these dirty riddims out, NOW!
On the subject of dirty riddims, check out these nasties!
Foamo’s definitely on form when it comes to creating horribly wobbly tunes. This remix of Dub Pistols shows off his talent to create nastiness with some wawawawawa bass in an afrobeat frenzy.
Stenchman takes ‘Township Funk’, and truly stenchifies it! And its called ‘Township Spunk’, HAHAHAHA, hilarious!
Usual high quality of production and having the formula making your body jig from Sharkslayer. A melee of lovely synths and freaky samples.
Was given the heads up on this Dskotek tune by an avid fan which was released a few months ago. More freakiness with Mustard Pimp-esque style and a tinge of wet wobbliness.

Yet another post with no theme but the awesome power of dance music. More new brilliant tunes for you to blast through your earphones at full volume, let the nation be a hearing impared nation!
Fake Blood is probably one of the most sort after artists on the blogosphere. He even released a fake remix (of Darude-Sandstorm) to the blogs and they still hype hype hyped it. Luckily being Wizards which are Better, we saw through Fake Blood’s gag and even managed to laugh with him! HAHAHA! His new remix is not fake, but Fake Blood (i.e. fucking beaut). Once again captivating us with a georgeous melodic hook using his definitive Fake Blood synths and more, ultimately producing a, dare I say it, melancholic track. Amazing variation and just a wondeful tune.
Another blogosphere lover is Major Lazer. Boy do we love it. Now here we have five remixes of ‘Hold The Line’ taken from Mad Decent blog, they’re all freaking awesome. I’ll go through them quickly my genreising (I know its not a word) each remix. Skream: Very minimal afrobeat/dubstep. DZ: Dubstep/breakbeat with heavy, jabbing bass. Edu K: Minimal dancehall/afrobeat. Toadally Krossed Out: Interesting take on DnB using drum rolls. Audio Dakoos: Hyper dubstep with excellent variation.
Who would have thought that Lee Mortimer’s remix of ‘Rockerman’ by Foamo would ever be challenged. Dem Slackers did! And what a job they’ve done. The original wobble ryhthm, changing the tune and fucking around with it superbly!
A1 Bassline is always capable of producing wobbly bangers. But I do feel that his last few remixes (quite a few) have been quite samey in the use of his classic machine gun wobble sound. If you’ve been following his work for the last few months you’d probably know what’s coming just before the drop. But hey, this track is awesome no doubt, but what happened to the days of ‘Bad Man Horror Theme’, probably his best track. If you have no idea what I’m on about, then you’ll definately love this track anyway!
BONUS!!!!
Now we don’t usually have ‘Bonus’ tracks on this blog. But seeing as all of the above are brand spanking new, I thought that a track nearly a year old wouldn’t correlate. Its an old Mightyfools remix I found and I love it, amongst all their other stuff. Bouncy, bassy and brilliant; the least you can expect from probably my favourite artists.

Herve, the English ambassador of fidget has produced these two new remixes are of usual excellent quality, great production and pushing all the right buttons. I especially like the remix of ‘Ice Cream’, the original’s so cool anyway, with clever, hypnotic use of the vocals and whirring bass sounds piercing the inner depths of your brain. Be sure to get the remix of Calvin Harris as well which mixes it up between straight electro and a bit of wobbly bass.

Foamo has really come into his own this year. Producing some really memorable wobbly riddims (‘Wadance’) and almost poppy, feel good remixes (remix of La Roux’s ‘Bulletproof’). These two remixes show both sides of his talent, with the remix of Diplo & Laidback Luke being a wobbly fucking dancefloor destroyer, and the remix of Franz Ferdinand slightly more mainstream but still hitting the spot. Check ‘em out!

The Bloody Beetroots produce two very un-Bloody Beetroots tracks. One with hip-hop group the Cool Kids, which I actually like a lot, not being a big hip-hop fan. Use of a sample from the ‘Warp’ synth means you can’t go wrong anyway. And the second is a very chilled, 80’s style remix of Ryskee’s ‘Leave Me Amor’.
Now a bunch of awesome new tracks from various artists of supreme interest
New D.I.M. original material (with a little bit of help from TAI) finally! This guy was one of the reasons I got into this world of bass, and its great to hear some new stuff from him. His typical glitchy, bleepy, bassy electro style taking over the show, with a new creepy twist to it. OH YES!!!!!
Again an artist sticking to his guns, A1 Bassline, with machine gun wobble and a thumping drum beat, this time swaying to the dancehall beat, like the blogosphere. He seems to like remixing Little Boots!
Its business as usual with AC Slater, remixing the wicked cool Dre Skull. Resonating bass throughout and some catchy vocals. Not groundbreaking, but certainly not to be missed!
Thats all from me, I hate doing these sort of mega-posts with no meaning to them, but then I hate not being up to date more, so there’s my lazy way of doing it. Enjoy these bassy goodies!

i haven’t posted in fucking ages so here’s a bigg’un. my excuse……..i’ve been busy organising the first wizards are better night. taking place in london on the 9th of july>>>>we’re bringing all our favorites along. MUSTARD PIMP>>STEREOHEROES>>DEM SLACKERS>>KLOSE ONE. be sure to be there. and there’s much more to come!!!! NOW // MUSIC>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
i’ve been loving my dubstep at the moment even venturing into the depths of matter to attend RAM records>>which was insane>>benga and plastician blew me away!!! (but i swear if i hear anymore fucking chase & status i think i’m gonna pee blood…….. yeah saxon’s good but every other fucking song!) so here’s plastician’s may 09 mix featuring exclusive VIPs aplenty and some serious bass. and, also on the dubstep flavours we got gutfucker (version2) from stenchman. a huge huge portion of your daily bass allowance.
………………………………………………..
……………………………………
i’ve also been getting highly excited about the sound coming outta this one. GTronic. who has been featured recently but since then we’ve found a brilliant original, slasher, which comes full equipped with GTronic’s already standout hollow roar sound. HUGE!! and a remix of foamo’s ‘everything cool’ probably my fav. of all the gtronic tunes i’ve been able to get my hands on….catchy vocals, a huge drop, this song is every bit the dancefloor destroyer.
…………………………………………….
we’ve also got a preview of the new lee mortimer and foamo collaboration which is absolutely huge. it’s name is, suitably, ‘it’s going down’. however, it does sound real similar to the rusko remix of day’n'night…but, sick none the less. along with a 1.30 version of UFO (k-hole bass riddem)!!!!!! i cannot wait one more minute for the UFO ep. not one more.
……………………………………………….
jACK BEATs//UFO (k-Hole BAsS RIDDEM) (1.30 PREVIEW!!!)(REMOVED ON REQUEST)
…………………………………….
and yet more. i’ve been loving the remixes that have come out of the kick it ep by ct burners & jubilee, released on the nightshifters label. there’s a superb squire remix and a superb donna summer remix. the squire remix has all that one expects but having never heard donna summer before i was pleasantly surprised. another tune that’s had me double checking my ipod again and again and going>>’gotta remember that’, and i did. so good.
…………………………………………..
………………………….
and!!!!!!!!!!! new math head. i think. but none the less good math head. i really can’t get enough of his style. ever. so dark. like burial but interesting…
………………………………………………

and finally here’s a little treat that i found on hostage’s twitter. it’s called pissing about and it’s sick. a bouncy, bleepy number that even slips into a bit o drum&bass at the end. sexy. AND the fake blood remix of animal by miike snow. what a song!
………………………………………………………….
…………………………………………….
bye.

Nic Sarno is yet another guy from the Italian ‘fidget’ scene who has impressed me. This aint raw power though, its more subtle and quirky, using strange noises and clean sounding drums. People have described Sarnos style as ‘jackin house’….. whatever. Be sure to check him out at Bugged Out this sunday.
Now something for the RAW ENERGY addicts!

yet again raffertie amazes me. he’s improving every day through a rigorous schedule of dj sets around the land. he’s recieved massive support from radio 1 experimental (i think thats what 2-4am is called) and the VIP version of his song stomping grounds is just absolute proof of his insane talent. seriously listen to the laugh right at the end. pure insanity…..i give you…………………………
it’s absolutely insane, an evolution in his sound, such an improvement and an absolute stomper… he builds churning dubstep wobbles into a cacophony of bassy wobbles and cut up vocals……and it’s made me so happy because….i’m gonna see him on the 6th of february. CHEW THE FAT. corsica studios. fake blood, foamo, a1 bassline, raffertie!!!!! sure to be a great one. four insane artists. what a line up! enjoy raffertie. and also as a bonus here’s i only wanna be with bass by the amazing squire of gothos. another fine song. built with a spectacularly cheesy vocal hook and lots and lots of bass.

since the emergence of the so called “fidget” or ”fidget house” scene, its become somewhat of an addiction for me to listen to these certain tracks on full fucking volume ALL DAY. the phrase was supposedly coined by jesse rose and switch as a joke and it comes as no surprise that it has been questioned as a classification of the glitchy electro which has benn pioneered by the likes of crookers, the bloody beetroots, herve and fake blood over the past year(ish)……oh and obviously jesse rose and switch. for me it’s by far the most defined sub-genre in the massive expanse that is dance music. with its wobbly, rythmic, manic synth sound and bouncy electro beat, the one word that sums it all up is FIDGET. It’s music for ADD kids, it gives you so much and keeps you so excited for so long, leaving you with an unforgettable feeling of ecstacy and, of course, it is perfect music to dance to. here are some fidget tracks which i’m overplaying at the moment, obviously some have already been posted (everything by MUSTARD PIMP!)
the best 2 words to describe this track are bouncy and circuslike. What’s not to like.
shinichi osawa – the golden
this track is on the extremely talented jap’s album “The One”. a powerful, dirty fidget track.
FINALLY A GOOD QUALITY VERSION! one of my favourite all time fidget tracks. IT NEEDS NO EXPLANATION, JUST GET IT.
you can always count on the don to pull out a lovely sounding fidget banger! this track just another reason to believe in him. i do……….
a trully wonderful tune. an essence of commercial dance but thats the beauty of it.
confession: I listened to this track ALOT in the last few months of 2008, so yeah i’m not playing it that much nowadays. The fact that it is such a fucking fidgety track and one of my favourites tunes, forced me to put it on. watch out for Mightyfools. partyjunkies is they’re new EP which sounds very very good with its essence of bassline. AND THEY’RE DUTCH!….weird. BUY MIGHTYFOOLS PARTYJUKIES EP!! …….its definately worth forking out some money for this one. the EP includes they’re own fucking sick originals, PLUS remixes by AC slater, heavyfeet, OH SNAP!!, boemklatsch and liam vizzle.
other artists to sink your teeth into are (obviously including the ones mentioned above) bryan cox (crux Records has alot of good stuff), lee mortimer (a.k.a. Sawtooth Sucka), stereoheroes, foamo, mikix the cat, jeff doubleu, tits & clits, heavyfeet and hijack. and just in case you haven’t been following this blog, MUSTARD PIMP (the best of the bunch).
