This is the new release by Kiwi dude Magik Johnson on one of the best electro/fidget house labels, Potty Mouth Music. There’s a bit of everything in this EP; quirky and catchy jackin/electro/fidget house. The highlight for me is the Calvertron remix (sorry Magik!). He remixes ‘The Boy Blew’ making it more bouncy and accessible in the first half but obviously couldn’t help but break into his renowned wibbly wobbly style. Here’s some 128 kbps clips to give you a taster. Oh and look out for the next Mightfools EP ‘Worse Than Yesterday’ which should be dropping soon on Potty Mouth.
Cheeky bassline house bonus from the big AC!

7 new awesome tracks and covering a wide array of todays dance scene. We have Dutch house, dubstep, tribal, tech, minimal, wobbly fidget and whirring electro. Bring it on bitch!
LEE MORTIMER – IT DON’T STOP New Lee Mortimer original which has really impressed me. His stuff over the last year as generally been ok but nothing special. This track has some very well executed wobbly bass and a bit of variation. Keep it up Lee.
EXCISION, DATSIK – SWAGGA Absolute dubstep classic already. Been in pipeline for a while now but just thought I’d upload the full version. Chug, wobble, scream, die!
CLAUDE VONSTROKE – VOCAL CHORDS Angelic minimal house track literally using vocal chords cut up and laid into perfect order.
KID KOUMAS – GIRLZ WHAT (PROWLEY BURGLARS REMIX) The rather elusive Prowley Burglars has produced an absolutely banging whirring electro house remix, shame we don’t know more about them.
AFROJACK – ZEGGIE Starting off with ‘A Millie’ vocals then going to relentless bleeps and then constantly morphing throughout this great house track.
LUCA LOZANO – BERLINETTA (J PHILIP REMIX) Ominous sounding tech house track with a great ambience, weird sounds and tropical beat.
CLASSIXX, VILLAINS – I’M ON IT FEAT. O8O (AC SLATER REMIX) Bouncy house from the consistent AC Slater, slightly repetetive but not you standard wobbler.

We haven’t seen any Proxy originals for bloody ages, apart from a rip of ‘8000′. This track ‘Who are you?’ has been hanging around for ages, I heard about a year ago on Kissy Sell Out’s ‘In New DJs We Trust’ show but it seems Proxy is actually going to release it soon. We absolutely love the Bloody Beetroots as well which well no doubt come out on the EP so we’ll have some Proxy 320s for once! This is just a rip off myspace, as is the Marseille remix, but you don’t need 320 appreciate the awesomeness.
BONUS:
Out ages ago but I’ve only just discovered this menacing bass driven wonder.
FAGGET FAIREYS – SAMO TI (AC SLATER REMIX)
The intro to DJ Manaia’s latest mix which has some epic wobbly chugging bass.

It certainly aint! He’s a few mind blowingly exciting fidgety wobbly tracks from very recent times just to let y’all know that you aren’t just going to be listening to congas and bleepy sounds (even though I do like that shit). One man who has really impressed me in the fidget field is Bill Eff (above). He’s from Oxford and is unsigned at the moment but has been signed to the likes of Wearhouse Records for previous records, Lee Mortimer could never miss such talent. Anyway here are his jump up and hit the fucking ceiling tracks. Brace yourselves.
THE FUNK OUT – BIG DICK (BILL BIG BASS EFF REMIX) Proper ghetto wobbly stabbing bass, but that doesn’t even describe how well the rhythms and melody work to create a massive massive tune.
BILL EFF – TROUSERFLAP Again the same obseneties in this track. Get the Mightyfools remix as well!
ZODIAC CARTEL – BEYOND THE DANCEFLOOR (BILL EFF REMIX) Trippy pitch bent piano stabs building up to a descending and ascending bass madness with great variation in rhythms.
SHAB RUFFCUT – TWIST (BILL EFF REMIX) Ugly wet dubstep style bass and fidgety synths, mmmmmmm. Check out a sick Shab Ruffcut’s original track below.
BILL EFF – CHOCOLATELY Less fun but great melodies and rhythms in the synths and bass. Verging on electro perhaps.
No some more fantastic fidget tracks. Big shout out to Squeegie Sounds blog from whom I got a few of these tracks (including some Bill Eff tracks) and actually really inspired me to write this post. Shab Ruffcut is another up and coming UK wobble house producer. Check this biggen out.
Wow, this track is all over the place. One second its heavy electro and another its wobbly fidget.
Another extremely wobbly riddim. This is getting silly!
New AC Slater remix with subtle machine wobble. Watch out for his next few releases, some his new remixes on his mix we posted recently are fucking ill.
Stereoheroes haven’t released anything for a while. This track is nothing new but it comes up with the goods which is expected from these guys. Looking forward to their new EP.

Dance blog kings Crookers are back with two new remixes. The first of Fever Ray has a slightly minimal tune with a strangely catchy hook and a thumping bass drum. The second of Tiga’s ‘Beep Beep Beep’ includes monotone distorted bass and high ravy synths. Great stuff.

Big tune awaiting from Lee Mortimer andLaidback Luke. We only have a sneaky preview, but enough to tell you that there’s a funky wobble monster on the way to tear your house down! The other Lee tune is a remix of Franz Ferdinand is a house version of the original but still very much enjoyable with cheeky synth lines and a thumping beat.

Fake Blood’s always on fire. The new remix of The Gossip brings the Fake Blood signature sound and uses the vocals excellently. Also get your hands on their superb EP by buying it with the link below!
Sorry that picture is a bit intense, but then again it is Hostage with some new tunes, INTENSE! ‘Badman Sound’ really lives up to its name with whirring mental bass and ravy synths. Hostage has truly switched to the afrobeat as many producers have. It also shows in his other tune ‘Hanging’which is more funky with an old disco sample and a bleepy bendy synth.

This mix really contains brand spanking new stuff and really sums up the best dance of TODAY! Get all the tracks off the mix when you can, some you can even find on this blog!

Herve, the English ambassador of fidget has produced these two new remixes are of usual excellent quality, great production and pushing all the right buttons. I especially like the remix of ‘Ice Cream’, the original’s so cool anyway, with clever, hypnotic use of the vocals and whirring bass sounds piercing the inner depths of your brain. Be sure to get the remix of Calvin Harris as well which mixes it up between straight electro and a bit of wobbly bass.

Foamo has really come into his own this year. Producing some really memorable wobbly riddims (‘Wadance’) and almost poppy, feel good remixes (remix of La Roux’s ‘Bulletproof’). These two remixes show both sides of his talent, with the remix of Diplo & Laidback Luke being a wobbly fucking dancefloor destroyer, and the remix of Franz Ferdinand slightly more mainstream but still hitting the spot. Check ‘em out!

The Bloody Beetroots produce two very un-Bloody Beetroots tracks. One with hip-hop group the Cool Kids, which I actually like a lot, not being a big hip-hop fan. Use of a sample from the ‘Warp’ synth means you can’t go wrong anyway. And the second is a very chilled, 80’s style remix of Ryskee’s ‘Leave Me Amor’.
Now a bunch of awesome new tracks from various artists of supreme interest
New D.I.M. original material (with a little bit of help from TAI) finally! This guy was one of the reasons I got into this world of bass, and its great to hear some new stuff from him. His typical glitchy, bleepy, bassy electro style taking over the show, with a new creepy twist to it. OH YES!!!!!
Again an artist sticking to his guns, A1 Bassline, with machine gun wobble and a thumping drum beat, this time swaying to the dancehall beat, like the blogosphere. He seems to like remixing Little Boots!
Its business as usual with AC Slater, remixing the wicked cool Dre Skull. Resonating bass throughout and some catchy vocals. Not groundbreaking, but certainly not to be missed!
Thats all from me, I hate doing these sort of mega-posts with no meaning to them, but then I hate not being up to date more, so there’s my lazy way of doing it. Enjoy these bassy goodies!

I love when you get some real gems in your inbox from unknown producers which range from giving you a little smile to raging about it all week. Well we have a few impressive obscure artists who need a voice, and my friends, Wizards Are Better is the voice for banging music! We have a mash-up, a couple of original tracks and mixes, but one track I really feel needs a very fucking special mention.
This track is by mod3rn0 who dropped this in our soundcloud about a month ago, now i’ve only just got to grips with all the web thingys we have for the blog since being away in India and found this and it blew my mind! Sounds you’ve never heard in hype hype hyped up disjointed dubstep track. Its Raffertie with the bass turned up and grimed up, possible? apparently yes! CHECK THIS SHIT!
The next track is a bouncy crunk track with a safe hip-hoppy vibe to it, maybe its the rapping? I don’t know….. But yeah, would be a great track to drop in most clubs.
Now a superb mash-up of ‘Love to Edit’ by Crookers and one of the best tracks ever made, Jack Beat’s remix of ‘Jack Got Jacked’ by AC Slater. The track meshes the two original intros together, then drops the ‘Jack Got Jacked’ main drop with a little editing which really hits the spot.
We’ve had a mix from Company C in a recent post an awesome tracklisting mainly consisting of the best of Jack Beats and A1 Bassline (can’t go wrong!). Now we have another, Ghetto Bass pt. 2 and I here there’s another 2 to come which I’m excited about. I love mixtapes with your favourite tracks on it for the car or just to play at a party, saves pausing the ipod and changing the track! This one has another awesome tracklisting, some of my favourite tracks ever. You’ve found the key to my heart Company C!
Tracklisting:
Pull Up – DJ Manaia
I Wouldn’t Be Like This (Andy George Remix) – The Futureheads

Glastonbury was an experience beyond explanation. So much amazing, strange, fun, trippy, euphoric, chilled, banging stuff going on. You could stay in the dance village and dance all day, or chill at the stone circle with a spliff, or go and get stuck in to the best bands the world has to offer, and SO MUCH MORE. Blur was my highlight, having been into them in my childhood and now just appreciating how diversive and musically brilliant they are. Damon Albarn cried on stage which got me going as well!
Animal Collective were out of this world. All of their songs were mixed into one long, dreamy trip with tight singing harmonies and synths. The light show they put on was entrancing and I found myself doing some real hippy dancing throughout the whole thing. ‘Brother Sport’ was the closing song and as thats my absolute favourite, I left on an obscene high!Apart from that, out of the actual bands, I saw Spinal Tap who were hilarious!
The dance village was my home. The weekend was kicked off early on thursday with Raffertie who filled out the Dance Lounge (huge) and as this was one of the only acts on at the time. But he was insane, luring in the unknowing crowd with classic dance tunes and then dropping them into dirty bassline, what a way to start Glasto! I’m not quite sure what days all the rest of the dance acts were on as its a bit of a blur at the moment! But I do remember that we saw Skream & Benga who obviously didn’t dissapoint. Rusko got his bass guitar out and Joker (directed towards by Skream when I bumped into him, hopefully not to get me to fuck off!) was probably my favourite dubstep act. Managed to catch the end of Don Diablo who was well into it before Jack Beats which was pretty empty but fucking awesome as he played all his own tracks (incedently, I heard ‘UFO K-hole bass’ three times over the weekend!!). Scratch Perverts was a let down due to their speakers fucking up even though they had a sick set. Wow loads of others, Deadmau5 was BANGing and Zinc had Benga bigging him up on stage which added to the great atmosphere his sounds produced. Oh, and of course Crookers who got the whole tent stomping even though at one point the speakers fucked up. Annie Mac was very excellent as well playing the best of all genres whilst Caspa played some evil, alien dubstep. Basically the dance village was a massive rave with constant floor fillers of every dance sub genre pumping out all day and night.
As we haven’t been able to bring the tunes, here’s a tasty selection mostly including artists we saw, so it does relate to Glasto a bit?!
Firstly we have a euphoric sexy synth driven tune with some funky bass, resolving into a great house track.
Now a new Crookers remix, jackin house to the max with horns!
One of the classic tunes at the moment. Heard it so many times at Glasto to my great delight. Major Lazer is taking over the blogosphere in a big way.
A dirty dirty dubstep remix of La Roux. Quite similar to all the other of its kind but don’t we just fucking love it!
Zinc is another guy taking over the blogosphere and rightly so with a new sub-genre dubbed ‘crack house’ by the man himself. Formerly known for producing drum ‘n’ bass, he’s been converted to the house side of dance and thank the lord for that. Much the same as Hostage who produces banging electro wobble today after being a d’n'b head.
On the subject of convertion from d’n'b to electro, AC Slater has converted ‘Boom Style’ into some funky, bassy electro. GO ON MY SON!
Sexy techno/electro. Clean, punchy drums have a stabby bass to get you moving.
Not just posting bangers here. The Roots vs. Don Diablo is very cool and respect for MJ on the other Don track.
The mixtape was sent to us by a dude called Company C and its very well mixed with loads of our faves Jack Beats and A1 Bassline.
Tracklisting:
Get Down – Jack Beats
Its What you do to me (jack beats remix) – Steed Lord
What (Dub) – Jack beats Ft Mc Dynamit
Where’s My Money (Caspa Remix – Jack Beats Re-Edit) – TC
Hooligans (A1 Bassline Remix) – Don Diablo & Example
Back of the Van (A1 Bassline Remix) – Ladyhawke
Don’t Let Go (A1 Bassline Radio Edit) – Yo Majesty
Like to Freak (DJ Bam Bam Remix) – Kelevra
It’s Going Down – Lee Mortimer & Foamo
Manabadman (Andy George Re-Fix) – Toddla T
Thats all from me, we’ll see a lot more posting from ‘The Wizard’ now he’s finished his exams which is very exciting!
LONG LIVE GLASTONBURY!

AC Slater has already proved that he’s fucking good at dubstep with ‘Hello’ which is one of my favourite of the genre. This new track ‘Calm Down’ is of equally insane but DARKER! ‘Hello’ is almost a bedtime dub track with ear drum massaging bass whilst ‘Calm Down’ is a squelchy mother bitch! I think the link to ‘Hello’ was slightly obscure in a previous post so if you didn’t spot it, here it is and after you’ve heard both these tracks you’ll be praising AC Slater’s dubstep abilities bearing in mind he’s an electro artist at heart.
There’s some dubstep, now i’ll give you some bonus electro/fidget tracks. A new playful, dare I say it, funky Stereoheroes remix of Pony Pony Run Run’s ‘Hey You’. And also a remix of Felix Cartel’s banger ‘Skeleton’ by Bird Peterson, baaaaassssssss!
