here’s a BIG heads up for tomorrow night where we have another huge line-up coming over to 333 club. two of the biggest up ‘n’ comers on the uk dubstep scene at the moment moving downstairs into the dungeon room of 333! WOW. FLUX PAVILLION has had me quaking in my boots for a good few months with releases on rottun recordings (home to bass destroyers datsik & excision!!) and he personally almost made me poo with his, and trolley snatcha’s, b2b set following excision at rhythm factory a few weeks ago. HERBDOUT has had us all in seizures with his huge tune GET MAD! and is celebrating getting to no. 2 in the JUNO DOWNLOAD singles chart! set to be a great night. come down and get mad!

A1 Bassline – Bad Man Horror EP

Finally Bad Man Horror EP is out with a couple of A1 Bassline oldies, ‘Bad Man Horror Theme’ and ‘We Love Pussy’ but never released till now. Two huge tunes which have been hanging around for over a year now. Also its nice to have some A1 Bassline tracks which aren’t pure wobbly bass, in fact none in the whole EP! The other two tracks are new and unheard, showing his versitilaty by producing huge afrobeat tech tunes. It seems its the next step of his musical journey having started off producing drum n bass, then garage, then electro and bassline house. Or maybe he’s just jumping on the band wagon? Who cares, everyones doing it.

Bassnectar – Cozza Frenzy>>THE ALBUM!

Musical genius Bassnectar has at last released a studio LP with 14 superb tracks. He’s purposefully produced 7 heavy bassers and 7 peaceful chillers to give all and all a very eclectic sounding album. A few are classic dubstep crunchers at around 140/70 bpm and the rest are at a hip-hoppy 90 bpm showing Bassnectars love for hip-hop. Hip-step, dub-hop, can’t decide which one sounds better. The fact is, this album offers all strains of the genre and more, from the heavy bangers, to groovy numbers, to chilled instrumentals. Oh yeah, and there’s one fucking mental drum n bass track! Gucci Vump

Sound Pellegrino have really been churning out some groundbreaking artists for the past few months. Gucci Vump is the latest one who have/has decided to make him/themselves anonymous. There’s been rumours flying around everywhere as to who it is, the most feasable artists being Fake Blood or Brodinski. But I guess we won’t know for sure until we get some hard evidence, unless someone reading this post can tell me for sure? Here’s a few brilliant tracks from Gucci Vump’s debut EP, including remixes from British prodigy L-Vis 1990 and half of the legendary Renaissance Man, Downtown. Weird but wonderful Russian singing samples in ‘Sha! Shtil!’ original, great ambient synth work in the L-Vis remix and superb ethnic samples in the Downtown remix of ‘Boogieman’.

We’ve got loadsa banging mixes for you today. The one I’m most excited about today is George Lentons ‘Green Tea’s Nice Mix’, he sure loves green tea! The mix is in split tracks, which is always helpful, and contains dubstep, electro, bassline house, breakbeat and drum n bass. The intro is superb as well, with scratching vocals from the Jazz club sketch off ‘The Fast Show’ and a sample from the film ‘Network’ which also features in Herbdouts ‘Get Mad’ and of course George Lentons ‘Troll’.

JSaxton is a relatively new producer from Leeds bringing us some superb dubstep. Lots of variation and profound noises. We’ve got two tasty originals and two remixes of very well known tunes, ‘Pon De Floor’ (of course) and Claude VonStroke’s ‘ Who’s Afraid of Detroit’ with that classic synth line welded together with proper distorted bass. Wizard’s fave Mightyfools have just released a new EP ‘Cops!’ on Crux records. Remixes on the EP include Bryan Cox, The Only, The Deficient, Leko, Jeff Doubleu, IllStM & Zol and MC Twist. We have the original but I thought I’d better reduce the quality to 160 kbps, get the real thing and all the awesome remixes off Beatport via the link below. The original is bass-heavy as we expect from Mightyfools, but not classic wobble, more a fast stabbing distorted bass and we like it.

Fidget Folk: Mini K

Mini K is the last but certainly not least of my favourite fidget trio at the moment with a change from British to some South African style fidget . His relentless wobbly bass certainly gets you going but his style is slightly more subtle than that of Calvertron andBill Eff, with less maxed out drums and not the hugest bass sound. It’s still enough to blow your socks off though! He also has a great talent for varying the rhythms constantly. If you haven’t already, get the title track of one of his latest EPs ‘Jack Off Jill’ which we posted a while back!

His usual ridiculously wobbly style coming through here with funky build ups.
